Triangular fluted outer ring
Rolex’s triangular pit pattern is a characteristic of the brand’s watches. Initially, the triangular grooves on the Oyster outer ring served a practical purpose, helping to tighten the outer ring to the case and ensure the waterproof performance of the watch. The pit design of the bottom cover is also based on the same considerations, and is screwed to the case with specific Rolex tools. Later, the triangular pit pattern evolved into an aesthetic design element and became a signature feature of Rolex. To this day, the triangular pit pattern has become a feature of the brand's watches. The outer ring of this Datejust 36 is made of gold.
Slate gray dial
Many dial styles in the Oyster series use the sunray effect to reflect an elegant luster. This effect requires extraordinary brushing techniques to create engravings that extend outward from the center of the dial. The light is dispersed along the engraving, creating a subtle and unique effect, showing different luster as the wrist moves. After the solar ray effect process is completed, the dial is added with color through physical vapor deposition or electroplating technology, and is finally decorated with varnish.
White gold steel
