The one-way rotating 60-minute scale outer ring of the Sea-Dweller allows divers to accurately and safely control their diving and decompression time. This watch is equipped with a patented black Cerachrom bezel developed by Rolex, which is made of highly scratch-resistant ceramic and will not fade even when exposed to ultraviolet rays. Rolex uses PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating technology to coat the scales with a platinum film. The smooth black dial is equipped with extra large Chromalight luminous hands and hour markers, which are coated with luminous material and emit a long-lasting blue light in the dark, making it clear and easy to read. .

The black dial of the Sea-Dweller features extra-large hands and hour markers designed specifically for professional watches. “Sea-Dweller” is engraved on the dial in red font as a tribute to the first Sea-Dweller watch. The innovative Chromalight luminous display on the dial is an invention that effectively improves legible reading in dark environments. This blue light can display for up to eight hours, which is twice the display time of ordinary luminous materials.
